An unusual solution to the problem of wood movement. A flaired shape is often done in a bread-board end with grain oriented counter to the top. In that case, provision must be made to allow a solid-wood top to expand while the length of the bread-board does not change. Here, the applied flair* will move in the same direction as the top.
