The method of dividing the trays into compartments was lifted from Jim Krenov's solution to displaying miniature ceramics in a box he made for the King of Sweden, featured in Jim's book, Worker in Wood.
The smaller trays can be lifted independently from the tray that contains them. Lifting both small trays together brings the larger tray out as well, yielding access to the bottom of the box.
